About Cora Orchestration
Cora Orchestration is an Intelligent Business Process Management Suite (iBPMS) that facilitates rapid creation of business process applications that work on top of legacy systems to orchestrate best-of-breed digital solutions and harness human expertise.
Cora Orchestration optimizes business operations by orchestrating analytics, AI, and RPA, leveraging cloud infrastructure and capabilities, and focusing on delivering added value on Azure and Power Platform in the case management domain.
Using Cora Orchestration, an organization transforms customers’ experience, increases self-service actions, and improves visibility. The product allows companies to respond to business and regulatory needs with lower development time and cost.
What's new in Cora Orchestration?
Cora Orchestration V10.7 introduces features that enhance user experience and improved security and compliance requirements. All new features and enhancements aim to revolutionize the way you work, and save you valuable time. Main benefits include:
- Improved compliance of the Administration App roles and permissions to support separation of duties per industry standard.
- Built in Audit Log capabilities for case management solutions.
- Enhanced portal grids with filters panel mode.
- Enhanced UI and UX.
New features
- Case Audit Logs: Cora Orchestration records and displays the audit logs for a case. In the case audit logs you can view the system and custom event details like type of event, the time of occurrence of the event, the user who initiated the event, and any additional comments added. The audit log data is updated to the tblLog table in the database.
The Audit Log replaces the legacy Process Wall.
For details on adding audit log in a form, see this article. - Add and view custom events in case audit log: Cora Orchestration now offers a new built-in command Insert to Audit Log, to add custom events to the case audit log.
For details, see this article. - Access level control in the Administration site: Cora Orchestration now supports a full separation of duties between users and offers three access level controls to users, Global Administrator, Developer, and Access Controlled user. It is now possible to allow access to the Administration App resources to other users based on access level control (RBAC approach).
For more details, see this article. - In the Conversation View, when composing a message based on templates, you now have an option to select if a template is applied only on the message body or on both body and subject. Selecting "Template body" applies the template only to the email body without changing the email subject.
- Message bus activity now supports expressions in pipeline names and message bus listener names to support solutions with multiple message bus queues, pipelines and listeners, and improve workflow development practice.
For details, see this article.
General enhancements
- Enhanced UI in the Administration site: The Admin site UI has been enhanced for the Edit Organization and Manage Employee pages.
For list of UI changes, see this article. - Portal enhancements: For enhanced user experience, we have made the following updates to the Cora Orchestration portal:
- Added the following three new filter options for date columns in the portal grids.
- Last hour: The range is past hour from the current time.
- Next hour: The range is next one hour from the current time.
- Next month: The range is the entire month following the current month.
- Updated maximum case selection in portal grids to 200. You can now choose upto 200 rows in different portal grids. However, the default selection remains to be 25. To update the maximum selection limit, you need to set different application variables for different grids.
For details, see this article. - Sorting indicator in the portal grids is now better highlighted in blue to improve the UX.
The Advanced Sort option is now available on clicking Sorting in the toolbar, and has been removed from the three dots menu. - Column name in the portal grids is now clickable and displays the Manage Columns option on click. Manage Column option has been removed from the three dots menu.
- Filter panel: You can now choose to display a filter panel above the portal grid and open filters in the filter panel instead of in the grid header.
With Select Filters option in the panel, you can select the columns which you want to filter. In the filter panel, for each column add filters using the dropdown. - Enhanced the user experience ensuring the last state of a grid is retained when you relog into the portal, or return to a grid after switching between grids, or refresh or reopen the grid.
- Export to Excel for a grid now displays a toast notification of download in progress and download complete. The toast notification keeps the users updated on the export progress.
- Added the following three new filter options for date columns in the portal grids.
- Conversation View enhancements: The look and feel of all the conversation items in the Conversation View is enhanced and is in sync. The conversation item window opens as right aligned to the window. You can expand or collapse the RTE in the email and task conversation items using an expand/collapse icon.
- HTTP consumer activity now supports selecting dynamic URLs based on an expression.
- A user with Developer access level now has permissions to the system and shared view in the portal.
- A user with design time role and no edit permissions can access Quickwatch and Event Viewer in the Process Lab to debug workflows.
- For emails sent from Task and Message activities (via the BRS), the Open Item link in those emails now opens the item in an internal tab in the portal.
- Security enhancements: Added support for AD Managed Identity when configuring the database connection string, Azure Message Bus, Azure Storage and Azure Key Vault during the product deployment.

Breaking changes
- If you are upgrading from a previous version, then in the Admin site, the role "group manager" is obsolete and has been removed from the UI. Any user with "group manager" role loses the capabilities of editing groups.
- The Database Listener activity is no longer supported. For previous implementations that have been upgraded, the activity still exists in the toolbox, but it is not executable. For workflows with this activity type, you need to remove the activity and change the implementation.
This activity will be removed in later versions. - Process wall is replaced with Audit Log. This might affect existing implementations that were using the Process Wall module. However, this does not affect new implementations or existing implementations that do not use the Process Wall module.
For details, see this article. - If you are upgrading from a previous version, then any user having both the Developer role and the Global Administrator role, will now have only the Developer role.
