End Branch Activity

Overview

With the End Branch activity you can close a branch inside a workflow without closing the workflow itself.

During execution, the workflow does not pick the branch with an End Branch activity for re-direction. This improves processing time and enhances overall system performance.

This feature is available with Cora SeQuence 8.6 and later.

Use case

Consider a scenario where one branch of a workflow includes several loose branches that are not required to progress. You can add an End Branch activity at the end of each branch to close it. This activity prevents the workflow from re-directing to that branch.

Example

In this example, the Task3 activity branch is not required to progress and the branch should be closed.  Adding an End Branch activity closes the branch without closing the workflow and prevents that branch from being automatically picked up in the next workflow redirection calculation.
