Overview
Starting with Cora SeQuence V8.6.2, you have the option to create redirect jobs using the Job Execution Service (JES) instead of the Background Runtime Service (BRS). The JES framework provides easier job configuration, better control of and visibility over running jobs, and enhanced logging capabilities.
Redirect jobs are responsible for running workflow instances in your system. You can control workflow performance by adding more or less redirect jobs, depending on the complexity of your workflows, volume of processes, and your hardware capacity. As a rule of thumb, add redirect jobs up to the number of CPUs in the servers running JES.
Note:
The Workflow Redirect job is available only in Cora SeQuence V8.6.2 installations. To add this feature to earlier Cora SeQuence versions, contact the Support team.
Add new redirect job
- Go to Administration>Jobs Management>Add Job.
- Select Workflow Redirect (Preview), and then click Create.
- On the Job tab, define the following settings:
- Name: Enter a significant name for the job.
- Job Host: You can select a host server to execute the job, but to allow load balancing, leave this field empty.
- Job is enabled: select this option to enable job execution immediately.
- Job supports redundancy: Decide whether or not you want the system to apply load balancing to the job execution.
- Click Next.
- On the Command tab, define how many workflow instances the redirect job will handle at a time. 20 is the default selection.
- On the Advanced options tab, set the Job Execution Schedule setting to None.
Unless you have specific scheduling requirements, do not schedule the JES redirect job. It is designed to be always up and running. - Click Finish.
